The international scientific conference ICCIUNR-2021 was held. Since 1999, the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences has been holding the International Scientific Conference "Chemical Investigation and Utilization of Natural Resources" every four years. This year the 5th conference is being held online under the theme "Chemical Accelerator of Sustainable Development".
The conference is unique in that it was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the creation and development of modern science in Mongolia, the 60th anniversary of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, as well as the 70th anniversary of the President of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, Academician Regdel D.
The conference was attended by over 150 scientists and researchers from 10 countries, who discussed the latest research results in 15 areas of the chemical industry and exchanged experiences. The conference proceedings are registered with Springer Nature and published by the world's largest scientific publishing house Atlantis Press, reflecting the international scale of the conference.
Opening the conference, Minister of Education and Science Enh-Amgalan L. congratulated scientists and researchers in this field on their
anniversary and wished them success at the international conference. Then
Academician Gan-Erdene T. made a speech in honor of the 70th anniversary of the
birth of Regdel D., a famous scientist born in the field of chemistry.
In his speech, President of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences Regdel D. said: “Congratulations to all domestic and foreign scientists and researchers participating in today's international scientific conference.
First of all, I am delighted that the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences is organizing this international conference on "Chemical Investigation and Utilization of Natural Resources" in my honor. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Jargalsaikhan, Director of the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, staff of the Academic Council and staff of the Institute for initiating and implementing this initiative. I would like to note that this conference is dedicated to my 70th anniversary. Because it's not my birthday. Organizing conferences for birthdays and anniversaries is a completely different matter. As for me, I got a job at this institute after graduate. My first team. From my own experience, I've learned that getting into the right team is the key to becoming a scientist and researcher. Consequently, if the research community educates researchers, warmly welcomes alumni and nurtures them, it will add another dimension to a brighter future for science.
Also, I would like to thank the Minister of Education and Science, Enkh-Amgalan L., for the greetings. By the way, we think that Enkh-Amgalan L. is the first minister who visited all Mongolian state research organizations and institutes, get acquainted with the research work of scientists and make decisions on its basis. The path of science in the near future looks unobstructed. Having got acquainted with the real life of research organizations and institutes, the minister was able to issue a government decree. This is the first comprehensive scientific regulation since 1991. I hope that the implementation of this comprehensive resolution will improve the working conditions of our researchers.”
