The President of the MAS met with director of the UNESCO Beijing office Shahbaz Khan and delegates

Shahbaz Khan, Director of the UNESCO office in Beijing, and academician Regdel D., President of the MAS, held a meeting on October 7, 2022, at the UNESCO-Mongolian National Commission of United Nations Mission in Ulaanbaatar. At the meeting, General Secretary of UNESCO-Mongolian National Commission Boldsaikhan S., specialist Urangoo E., head of the Administration and Planning Department of MAS Dr. Suvdantsetseg B. and other representatives of the UNESCO Office in Beijing were participated.

At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on the following cooperation, and UNESCO has expressed its interest to give real support and agreed to work effectively.

It includes:

1. To provide adequate support in terms of methodology, human resources, communication and management for the implementation of the "Recommendation on Open Science" approved by UNESCO in 2021.

2. To provide leadership and participation of the MAS in improving the operation and management of the World Biosphere Committee and Sustainable Groundwater Resources Utilization Committees of UNCSCO's branch councils.

3. Investigate the creation of a "Government-Science,technology-Industry Cooperation Policy Committee" under UNESCO, which will provide research results to society, producers, and policy makers, focusing on ensuring and strengthening the participation of the scientific sector in the development and progress of Mongolia.

4. In order to support the leadership of women scientists in the field of science, to create and organize the "Women scientists in Mongolia" award.

5. The effective organization of "World Science Day" every year.

Among these cooperations, the first priority is to create a plan to celebrate the World Science Day in 2022 and organize it effectively and agreed to support activities initiated by MAS to improve the operations and management of the sub-committees of UNESCO which are World Biosphere Committee and Sustainable Groundwater Resource Use Committees.
