International conference on “Role of Central Asian Nomads in Silk Road Development” has today started at the Institute of Archeology, MAS. The purpose of this research conference is to clarify the role of nomads in Silk Road Development, especially the role of nomads in the territory of Mongolia, and the interactions and contributions of different nations along the Silk Road based on the historical and the archeological studies.
This road, known as the Silk Road in the world, has been a long way, about 13,000-km-long, link in between the east and west through the exchange of culture and technology development. The majority of the researchers consider that the Silk Road is originated from the first metallurgical period.
In this conference, 20 researchers and experts from Mongolian institutions including the Institute of Archeology, Institute of History and Ethnology, MAS, National University of Mongolia, University of Ulaanbaatar and experts from Russia and Korea will be discussing how the religion and culture of Mongolia were passed through the Silk Road, especially the detailed researches on the history, archeology, literature, linguistics of Mongolia during that time.
