Academician D. Dorj, one of the founding scientists for establishing
Mongolian archaeological researches, has today organized a launching ceremony
for his new book “Compilation of researches”. With the support from the Institute of Archaeology, Mongolian Academy of
Sciences and the National Council for Mongolian Studies, two volumes of such
research books are published by a prominent scientist, D. Dorj. His first book
content was consisted of more than 30 research articles and reports on
Mongolian Stone Age, Rock Painting, and History of Ancient Civilization. The
second volume contains the researches from his doctoral dissertation
"Kamenny vek Mongolia" (Novosibirsk, 1990) and other researches
including “Neolithic East Mongolia” (UK, 1971); "Petroglyph Mongolia"
(UB, 1975); Paleolithic of Mongolia (UB, 1978).
D.Dorj was born in 1936 in Ongon soum, Sukhbaatar province. He is the second expert who completed the archaeological profession in Russia. In 1960-1991, he worked as a Researcher, Head of the section, Scientist Secretary and Director of the Institute of History, MAS.
