The enzyme linked immunosorbent assay ELISA kit for detecting antibodies against SARS-Cov-2 has been registered to intellectual property office of Mongolia.
Mongolian scientists have developed a SARS-Cov-2 antibody assay kit to monitor antibody generation Covid-19 positive tested people.
A project of developing an antibody testing assay kit successfully implemented at the Institute of Biology, Mongolian Academy of Sciences and the assay kit is under preparation to its applications. The project group named it as Elisa kit and it will detect the SARS-CoV-2 virus antigen in human blood plasma to monitor immune system in the population by tracking antibodies in their blood samples.
Academician Ts. Oyunsuren, a leading researcher at the Institute of Biology, Mongolian Academy of Sciences, said, “We spent three months on research work on developing the diagnostic kit. The first trail of the assay kit was ready to test on 1 August, 2020. It is a diagnostic tool (assay kit) that tests the antibodies in people who have recovered from the disease. In the first phase, 16 million MNT was allocated for the research of diagnostics, and in the second phase, 180 million MNT was provided by the Ministry of Education and Science for development, certification and purchase of equipments”.
