The fund of the Central National Archives was replenished with things of J. Gurragchaa

The Foundation of the National Archives of Mongolia consists of all kinds of social, political, economic, cultural and scientific documents reflecting the path and the history of the creation of our ancestors.

One of the sources of replenishment of the national archive are documents created during the life and work of people who played a significant role in the political, social, economic, scientific and cultural spheres of Mongolia. Individuals are the creators and carriers of the country's history.

Today, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Mongolia's space flight, we receive paper documents and artifacts of personal origin 1960-2021, created during the life and work of the Mongolian and Soviet hero, cosmonaut and Major General Jugderdemid Gurragchaa, and the National Central Archives Foundation is being replenished.

These documents include his identity card, a biography of 3 generations, job description, report, education certificate, labor card, diploma, copy of the decrees and decrees issued by the Presidium of the Great People's Khural, interviews with his magazine, books and songs published, as well as documents and brochures about the life and work of J. Gurragchaa, such as envelopes, medallions, badges and emblems on the cosmonaut's suit, issued for a joint space flight.

Hero J. Gurragchaa began his career as a lieutenant-commander in the 065th detachment of the Mongolian People's Army, held high government positions, such as the Minister of Defense and a member of the State Great Khural. He is the owner of a rich biography and history, when from a soldier he became a Major General and a hero of Mongolia and the Soviet Union, from an ordinary researcher he received the honorary title of Doctor of Space Sciences.

Everyone knows that he was the first Mongol to go into space and that he is a national hero - the proud son of the Mongol people. During the joint flight, he conducted 25 scientific and 36 research experiments in the fields of medicine, biology, physical technology and remote sensing, which have played an important role in the development of space science in Mongolia. Today, the benefits of this research are being used in many fields, including aerospace, geography, mining, agriculture, information and communications.

Another of his strengths is his commitment to the development of Mongolia's defense policy.

For this ceremony, an exhibition of documents, photographs, artifacts and memorabilia related to his life and work was organized.
