The Mongolian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics of the MAS and the Russian Center for Science and Culture jointly organized a scientific conference in honor of the Soviet-Mongolian joint space flight and the 40th anniversary of the Mongolian cosmonaut’s flight into space.
The purpose of the scientific conference "Space Science and Space
Technologies" is to disseminate knowledge and information among
scientists, researchers, politicians, stakeholders, as well as children and
youth about the history of Soviet-Mongolian joint flight research, the origin
and development of the Universe, remote sensing and geoinformatics, use space
technologies, research and development of rockets and satellites.

At the opening of the conference were the
Minister of Defense G. Saykhanbayar, Deputy Minister of Education and Science
G. Ganbayar, President of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences D. Regdel,
cosmonaut J. Gurragchaa and Counselor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation
in Mongolia A. R. Bazarhandayev.
