The Research
Institute of Science and Humanities (RIHN) in Japan, in partnership with the
Asia Regional Center Future World, organized the “TERRA School”, a short-term
intensive transdisciplinary research course. The online training, which ran
from the 5th to the 19th of this month, was a combination of transdisciplinary research
theory, hands-on lectures, software workshops, interactive discussions and
collaboration.
“TERRA School or Transdisciplinarity for Early Career
Researchers in Asia School” is a short-term program aimed at empowering young
researchers in transdisciplinary research
across Asia.
Specifically, it is a vacuum activity that fosters cross-sectoral research, capacity building, cross-sectoral understanding and awareness of the challenges that researchers and social stakeholders face as they work together to address the challenges facing humanity in Asia. These include problem identification, stakeholder mapping, analysis, vision and presentation of various cross-sectoral research projects implemented by RIHN.
19 young
researchers from 8 countries took part in the training. 3 representatives of
the Mongolian Academy of Sciences have successfully completed training and
received certificates online.
The peculiarity of
the Training was that it was organized in a very interesting way, as if
researchers from many countries were sitting in one room using many electronic
communication tools such as ZOOM, Miro, Slack and SpatialChat.
