The artifacts found at the Dondogdul monument are kept in the
Archaeological Fund of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences.
It is believed that when Dondogdulam, the goddess of the state, ascended to heaven in 1923, eight yellow horses were carried on her corpse and taken to the mouth of the Sharga Morit, the modern 19 khoroo of the Sukhe-Bator region of Ulaanbaatar.
It is known as the Sharga Morit valley, which means Yellow Horse
because of the eight yellow horses that carried the goddess body. Rescue
operations are urgently needed as the area is endangered by public property,
fencing, stripping and leveling. Therefore, the Government Executing Agency, in
cooperation with the Department of Culture and Arts and the former Institute of
History and Archeology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, carried out rescue
excavations in 2018 and 2019.
Archaeological excavations have shown that it was built for a nobleman or high-ranking official. Therefore, it is important to take the monument under state protection, promote it and turn it into a tourist product. The artifacts found in the monument are currently kept in the archives of the Institute of Archeology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences.
