The “Honorary General Assembly” has been postponed by the MAS Presidium Meeting

The regular meeting of the Presidium of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences was held this week / June 14, 2021 /. The conference discussed the issue of setting the date of the regular conference of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences and the nominees for the Kublai Khan Medal, the highest award of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences.


The Mongolian Academy of Sciences planned to hold an "Honorary Conference" on May 16 to mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, but it was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was proposed to convene the Honorary General Assembly on the 24th of this month, but the Board of Directors also decided to postpone the Honorary General Assembly until the third quarter of 2021 due to the current pandemic.

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, the highest award of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, the Kublai Khan Medal, has been nominated by its affiliated institutes. Leading members supported the names of one foreign and four domestic scientists from the nominees for the award.


In recognition of the contribution to the development of science and technology in the country, it was decided to award the Kublai Khan medal on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the MAS to the following scientists, Academician Baatar D., astronaut, Dr. Gurragchaa J., Director of the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technology Dr. Jargalsaikhan L., Head of the Institute of Archeology Dr. Tsogtbaatar B. and Professor of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, Russia I. V. Puzynin.
