The President of the Academy of Sciences, Academician D. Regdel met with the President of Mongolia U.
Khurelsukh. The President of the Academy of Sciences D. Regdel congratulated
the President of Mongolia U. Khurelsukh and expressed the hope that he would continue
to support the development of the scientific sector.
The President of the Academy of Sciences thanked President U.
Khurelsukh, who, during his tenure as Prime Minister, initiated the
construction of the first research and innovation center on the occasion of the
100th anniversary of the creation of scientific organizations and the 60th
anniversary of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, as well as initiated and
organized the "First Congress of scientists ", thereby supporting
science.
Academician D. Regdel continued to inform about the construction
progress of the first research and innovation center. Construction and
earthworks of the electric substation of the complex have been completed and
are proceeding according to plan.
The Mongolian President was informed that the Mongolian Academy of
Sciences ranks 20th out of 46 Asian countries in terms of the number of books
and publications in the field of international studies published abroad.
The President of Mongolia stressed that 2021 marks the 100th
anniversary of the creation and development of scientific organizations, and
said that the President will focus on supporting the development of science and
innovation and increasing their effectiveness.
He also said that during his term as President of Mongolia, he will
focus on combating and mitigating desertification and environmental degradation
and will support and collaborate with scientists and researchers in this area.
He also noted the importance of research,
opinions and conclusions of scientists in the process of developing public
policy and instructed to work productively with Ch. Lodoiravsal, who was
appointed adviser to the President of Mongolia on policy in the field of
education, science and technology.
