With the support of the Japan Foundation, the Japanese Embassy in Mongolia donated books to the Institute of International Affairs of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences to raise awareness of Japan. The book donation ceremony was held on September 2, 2021 at the headquarters of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences.

The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia H. Kobayashi, who presented samples of books to the President of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences D. Regdel.

This time more than 30 books in many areas were donated to the research needs of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences. Ambassador Kobayashi said, “Books donated to the Academy of Sciences from racial fields, including economics, history, literature and culture. In the modern world, it has become commonplace to collect from the Internet only the information they need in a short period of time. However, I think there is a mysterious power in the book that allows you to think more, make new discoveries and create. I hope that at the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, as the main research center, these books will become an important step not only for researchers in the study of Japan, but also for people from other fields in their research.”
President of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences D. Regdel thanked the Ambassador for his support and cooperation with scientists in the study of Japan in many fields. “Published in English, these multidisciplinary books will be useful not only for researchers in Japan studies, but also for undergraduate students who want to learn more about Japan and the general public.”

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on cooperation between the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia and the Embassy, which will take place within the framework of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Japan in 2022.
