A scientific conference on "100 years of the People's Revolution of 1921, history and modernity" was held on December 9, 2021 at the Government House.


The conference was attended by 30 scientists in 2 sections from Mongolia, Russia, Japan and India.


The reports of this conference cover a wide range of issues, including regional and international relations, the history of the People's Revolution, biographies of historical figures, and historical records and sources. This shows that the content and scope of the study of the history of the People's Revolution are expanding, and the organizers say that the revolution is a historical process that has left its mark not only in Mongolia, but also in the region and internationally.


The conference, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Culture, a consortium of universities, the Institute of History and Ethnography of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences and the International Association of Mongolian Studies, is one of a series of events dedicated to the People's Revolution of 1921.


To mark the anniversary, the Institute of History and Ethnology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences has published a three-volume book summarizing the main findings of the study.

The three volumes, each containing 100 scientific articles and a total of 300 scholarly articles, provide a comprehensive answer to questions such as the current level of research on the history of the 1921 revolution, the direction of future research, and the conditions under which international scientists can work together.


The history of the People's Revolution of 1921 has been studied by foreign scholars in Mongol studies, including Russia, Japan, and traditional Mongol studies. They studied before 1990 and still studying. Because this event has a place in Mongolian history. Historians have concluded that the social and economic history of the Mongols in the twentieth century took on a whole new meaning, marking the beginning of the historical process that we Mongolians have reached today.


Interestingly, the study of the history of the People's Revolution of 1921 began at the same time as the events. For example, the first article on the 1921 revolution was written and published by Dambadorj, then secretary of the Party Central Committee, entitled Tolbo Nuur. Since then, in the 100 years leading up to 2021, the Institute of History and Ethnology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences has published many books on Mongolian history and how the history of the 1921 revolution has been studied. There are currently more than 2,800 books on the subject.
