The institute has a tradition of organizing an annual tree planting day, and this year this event coincides with the opening day of the national movement "Billion Trees" at the initiative of the President of Mongolia.

The staff of the Botanic Garden and Research Institute of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences actively organizes the tree planting movement every year. 200 trees were planted in 2019, last year 300 trees were planted, and this year 800 trees have been planted.

Avid B., a Secretary General of the MAS, said, “We are living in difficult times. Today, in addition to the Covid problem, global warming and desertification are human concerns. Of course, the most important factor in reducing global warming is planting green trees. I am grateful to the staff of our research institution for their active participation in implementing this great initiative of the President of Mongolia.”
