The Presidium of the Academy of Sciences met on December 7,
2021 and discussed the following two issues.
First, the issue of nominees for the Kublai Khan Medal, the highest award of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, was discussed and it was decided to award the prize to 4 domestic and 1 foreign scientist. In particular, it was decided to award academician Oyunsuren Ts., Dr. Munkhbayar Kh., a teacher at the School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the Mongolian State University of Education, Batsuuri J., Chairman of the Coordinating Council for Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Operation and Services, Chunag Sh., head of the Veterans Association of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, academician Parmon V. N., Head of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Secondly, the report of the directors of 14 institutes of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences on the implementation of the agreement for 2021 was heard and discussed.
Most of the Presidium members commended the directors' agreement with the President of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences on the performance of official duties and called for further efforts to integrate the research results into production.
They also suggested that inter-institutional cooperation and interdisciplinary research should be expanded, and that more attention should be paid to areas where large-scale work is being studied jointly.
Presidium members praised the fact that the MAS institutes have produced more custom-made products this year than planned.
