The Erdem Hackathon 2021 competition was organized for the
third time in order to contribute to the socio-economic development of
Mongolia, as well as to select and invest in projects that can be introduced
into production in the future.
This year's “Erdem Hackathon 2021” competition was unique in
that it was organized online as part of Priorities for Innovation development.
About 120 people from 21 teams, representing universities,
research institutes and the private sector, registered to participate in the
competition, of which 86 people from 14 teams qualified in the first round and
continued the training and event.
Over the course of 5 days, the selected teams received
training and advice from experienced mentors and trainers from the industry on
developing creative thinking, teaching entrepreneurial skills, teamwork,
presenting their project to investors, and hosting a business party. The
training was conducted by 4 leading trainers, 12 consultants/mentors and 5
judges, leading in the field of information technology, biotechnology and
entrepreneurship, and selected the best innovative projects.
To support the winners of the competition with investments,
to the 2 first places were awarded MNT 15 million each, to the second place was
awarded MNT 10 million and 1 special team
awarded by prizes from the sponsor.
The first place went to the “Innovative Researchers” team, which developed a cosmetic design technology using hydrolyzate-based raw materials containing collagen peptides derived from animal skins, and the “Ink Eye” team, which developed a biotechnology method of Lycium Ruthenicum crops. “The Coal Tech” team, which has proposed a technological solution for the production of eco-paint for wood from humic acid of brown coal, was selected as the runner-up.
The “Yellow Engineers” team, with the aim of producing biologically active food supplements rich in various minerals and vitamins, from seabuckthorn extract, which is a natural raw berry, took a special place and was awarded the “Altan Bioplas” Company award, the winner of Erdem Hackathon 2017.
