A family of Gur ERDENEJAV, who was a Doctor of Biology and Agricultural Sciences, Professor, and one of the pioneers of Mongolian botanical science have today donated about 1,000 books and about 400 reports from his private library to the library of Botanic Garden and Research Institute, Mongolian Academy of Sciences. In book donation event, G.Erdenejav’s wife, grandson and his former students were attended in addition to the researchers and scientists from the Botanic Garden and Research Institute.
G.Erdenejav was a foreign member of the United States Geographical Society, member of the Russian Geographical Society and a honored scientist of Buryatia of the Russian Federation. He was one of the pioneer botanical scientists (Ts.Davaajamts, D.Banzragch, G.Erdenejav) for founding the Botanical Department at Institute of Natural Sciences, Mongolian Academy of Sciences in 1961. Since 1961, he has been working in the scientific organizations for more than 50 years as a Researcher, Project Leader, Scientific Secretary, Deputy Director, Director, President of the Mongolian Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the First Deputy Minister of the two ministries.
Prof. Dr. G.Erdenejav was published about 130 research articles, wrote 30 books, 4 monographs, and supervised 7 candidates of Doctor of Science (Sc.D) and 25 candidates of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D).
