EARTHQUAKE IN KHANKH SOUM OF KHUVSGUL PROVINCE
Early morning of January 12 (at 05:32:12 Ulaanbaatar
time), a strong 6.5 magnitude of earthquake shook southwest of Hankh soum,
Khuvsgul province of Mongolia. The magnitude at the epicenter was 7-8
reportedly. It`s quake felt in all soums of Khuvsgul, Selenge, Darkhan-Uul,
Orkhon provinces and the Ulaanbaatar city residents. The process of deep-seated
erosion caused by this strong earthquake is intensifying, leading to a number
of recurring earthquakes in this region.
