The Kublai Khan medal award
ceremony took place on July 8, 2021 in the building of the Mongolian Academy of
Sciences.
This year marks the 100th
anniversary of the people's revolution, the 100th anniversary of the founding
of a modern scientific organization in Mongolia and the 60th anniversary of the
founding of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences.
As part of these events, the
Mongolian Academy of Sciences decided to present the Kublai Khaan medal to 4 Mongolian and 1 foreign scientists.
The highest award of the Mongolian
Academy of Sciences – the "Kublai
Khan" medal is awarded to highly qualified Mongolian and foreign scientists who have been
working in the scientific field for at least 20 years and who have made a
special contribution to the development of science, technology and innovation,
whose research work is internationally appreciated, and who made a valuable
contribution to the training of narrowly qualified specialists, as well as
statesmen and individuals who made a special contribution to the development of
science, technology and innovation in Mongolia.
In this historically
important year, this high award was presented to D.Baatar, J.Gurragchaa, L.Jargalsaykhan, B.Tsogtbaatar and I.V.Puzynin.
The highest award of the Mongolian Academy of
Sciences, the Kublai Khan medal, has been presented since 2008.
